The Pine Board & Batten siding was laid over a base of 7/16″ OSB sheathing and house wrap. You can install Board & Batt (typically abbreviated as B&B) right onto the exterior 2×4 purlins. All wood shrinks though and if you’re desire is a tight building with little air infiltration – then the OSB substrate and house wrap are what you want. The building design includes a nice sized attic room upstairs with multiple dormers for light and ventilation. 4 of the dormers are 4′ wide and if you look closely, you’ll see that 2 of them are 6′ wide.
We typically build stairways on the inside of the building, but once in awhile we’re asked for an exterior set of stairs to create a private entrance. Note that this is not the most economical way to gain entrance to the upper level, but we’re certainly up to the task if that’s what you’re after. There’s so many other cool features in this building like Smart Posts, a Glass Sided Cupola, and Snow guards! Dreaming of something cool, unique and special like this?? Give us a call(!) Our superior pricing system allows us to quickly quote just about anything and as you can see…. we can build it as well 😉
